The WLTSA (Western Lakes Teaching School Alliance) is committed to offering high quality leadership development in this region of Cumbria.
The Western Lakes Teaching School Alliance is working in partnership with the Best Practice Network and has been successful in setting up a Hub School at Keswick School for the delivery of the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH), National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership (NPQSL) and the National Qualification for Middle Leadership (NPQML). We have joined the Outstanding Leadership Partnership as a delivery partner and our first NPQML course began in February 2018 with a full uptake of places.
We began running our first NPQSL and NPQH courses in September 2018. The majority of the course content is accessed online with face to face days being held locally at Keswick School.
We are recruiting for our next NPQML programme which will begin in May 2019. This year’s inaugural NPQML programme was fully subscribed , so it might be worth any interested members of staff registering early? The closing date is Sunday 27th January 2019.
When registering, if you select Western Lakes Teaching School Alliance from the drop down menu you will be asked for a partner allocation code, please enter WSTL-TSA.
In the invoicing section of the application where it asks who is paying for the course, choose ‘Fully funded by scholarship/government funding’.
As a reminder, the DfE has guaranteed NPQ funding to all eligible applicants who complete their applications by 12 December, after this date there might still be funding available but it is not guaranteed. Potential candidates unsure of their eligibility can contact Best Practice Network at firstname.lastname@example.org or 0117 920 9200. A map of the eligible Category 5 and 6 Areas can be found here https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=15tJKeACmRGdvwAocqfWWQnRhJDM&usp=sharing
Colleagues have also contacted me regarding the NPQEL (National Professional Qualification for Executive Leadership) programme which is held at a central venue in the North of England but not at Keswick, unfortunately! You may still apply by the 12th January 2019 deadline and if eligible you will receive full funding.
