The National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership (NPQSL) is accredited by the Department for Education (DfE).

NPQSL provides recognition of leadership development and professional achievement for senior leaders who are looking for further professional development but not yet aspiring to headship.

Entry requirements.

NPQSL is for those who are, or are aspiring to become, a senior leader with cross-school responsibilities such as an experienced middle leader, a deputy head teacher, a SEN coordinator, an assistant head teacher, or other senior staff.

In order to be accepted onto the qualification candidates must have their application endorsed by their head teacher via a signed Head teacher declaration that is uploaded as a part of the candidate’s application.

When asked which delivery model you would like to undertake choose Standard blended learning.

When registering, if you select Western Lakes Teaching School Alliance from the drop down menu you will be asked for a partner allocation code, please enter WSTL-TSA.

In the invoicing section of the application where it asks who is paying for the course, choose ‘Fully funded by scholarship/government funding’.

What is School Direct?

School Direct is a direct route into teaching, where successful applicants can follow a PGCE (with QTS) course. The main difference to the traditional PGCE course is that you will do a significant amount of your training within a school.
